In creating our preschool I have borrowed ideas from
Maria Montessori's methods; Ive been inspired by
Rudolph Steiner's Waldorf approach, and above all else I
have followed my heart to create a nourishing preschool
which gives children the attention, kindness and respect
that encourages growth, joy and competence.
Painting, Singing and Instrument Play, Gardening,
Outdoor Play, Baking and Reading are the major tools
used at Zen Garden Preschool to nurture children's
interest in the world around them. I seek to build a sense
of belonging in the world which promotes confidence that
lasts a lifetime. I practice mindful eating, patience,
compassion, generosity, honesty, respect, and kindness.
Children in my care display these virtues as well, and
bring these practices further into the world. One
thoughtful act at a time, we are changing the world :)
